Coolest, Best New Yorkers Gather To Harass New York Post State Editor Fred Dicker During His Lame Radio Show2:31 am, 03/21/2012 share | comments [2] |
Amazing human beings from Occupy Albany and VOCAL NY flanked both sides of the Legislative Correspondents Association corridor today to call attention to the fact that The New York Post is crappy and that its parent company News Corp. doesn’t pay much in taxes. The protesters chanted stuff like, “News Corp., News Corp. pay your taxes, so we can have homes and health care access,” i.e. brilliant rhyming couplets that put the Post‘s stupid headline puns to shame. (I wrote “to shame!!!!”)
The protesters—who are, frankly, the greatest and uniformly wonderful—had timed the protest to coincide with Governor Andrew Cuomo’s appearance on Post State Editor Fred Dicker’s WGDJ radio show. A phalanx of state troopers in beautiful hats protected Dicker and Cuomo from the peaceful protest, as well as the potential media spectacle of being forced into a dialog with justice-loving representatives of the preterite.
On hand at the proceedings was some blowhole for the Albany Times Union named Casey Seiler who took the time to criticize the protester pamphlet’s “appalling run-on-sentence fashion.” College of St. Rose Adjunct Professor of Anthropology and #OccupyAlbany celebrity Bradley Russell was also in attendance. You can watch him agitate in the video and photo gallery below. He’s the one holding the giant check.
