Young Ray Kelly Time Travels To Present, Accuses OWS Of Throwing Glass Bottles At Cops

One of those YouTubes has surfaced depicting young police officers at an Occupy Wall Street gathering in Union Square engaging in a heated exchange with protesters about their mutual civil liberties. By far the noisiest of the officers has the old badge number of current-NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly—which can only mean that the department’s DHS-larded budget is even larger than previously estimated. The New York City Police Department has mastered time travel. It’s probably related to overtime hours. [Read More]

Some Salaries of New York State’s Minimum Wage Hike Opponents

Pictured Above And Center: Minimum-wage increase opponent and NFIB/NY State Director Mike Durant at a January 10th presser with Senator Tom Libous and some enthralled business and landowner coalition leaders. Durant was speaking on behalf of their coalition, “Clean Growth Now.” A master of political optics, Durant is wearing a lemongrass “green, sustainable” tie as he urges New York state’s Department of Environmental Conservation to hurry the fuck up with its proposed regulations for natural gas development for the benefit of the littlest businesses. Or, perhaps the tie color is meant to evoke lime-yellow hue of light natural gas. Anyway, the man is a tie-selecting genius. (Image Credit: NFIB itself; Touch Up Credit: Me)

If the owners get their asking price, this drab stretch of concrete, plus a loading area on the side of the building, will be worth nearly $21 million to them. That’s because the sidewalk is a privately owned public space, like hundreds of others around Manhattan — including Zuccotti Park, home base of Occup [Read More]
