The Orwells
At first we were going to pretend like we thought this was former Governor Mario Cuomo, and maybe some band from the 60s that he was is, but that’d be really dumb. The Orwells are a new garage rock band fronted by a very different Mario Cuomo, who is a teenager from Illinois.
The Orwells are all mad young and in high school probably, so that makes it easier to enjoy their music, because instead of thinking about how good the record is you can think about how good the next record’ll be, when they’re “grown up” and “in their prime.” Conor Oberst has been making an entire career of this fact, even though he’s now 43 years old.
