Small New York airport used for Singapore Airlines A380 due to winter storm

What a scene – the worlds largest passenger jet a Singapore Airlines A380 landing at the small Stewart International airport!

According to a CNBC report, it took more than three hours before the 325 passengers could leave the aircraft.

Singapore Airlines said that as the airport does not cater for gates of an A380 aircraft, stairs had to be brought to the plane for passengers to disembark. The flight was one of thousands cancelled or diverted when a huge winter bomb cyclone flooded the east coast of the US.
